Krysti Lozinski - Survivorship Coordinator
Krysti, a 2001 graduate of the College of the Holy Cross, has been a
dedicated supporter of cancer patients and survivors for many years. As
an English major at Holy Cross, Krysti combined her flair for writing
with her dream of having a positive and direct impact on the daily
lives of cancer patients by developing Write to a Cure. Through this
organization, students wrote weekly letters to cancer patients with the
hope that giving patients something to look forward to would better
enable them to pull through the hardships of treatment. In addition to
writing to patients, Write to a Cure members also used their pens to
provoke change, sending letters detailing cancer funding needs to state
government representatives.
Upon graduation, Krysti worked as a Research Associate at the Advisory
Board Company in Washington, D.C., which provides best practices
research and analysis to the health care industry. While her research
focused primarily on medical technologies, Krysti also completed
projects related to oncology and integrative medicine.
Krysti soon felt the need to work more directly with
people and in 2002 accepted a position as a personal trainer, working
primarily with post-rehabilitative clients who had suffered from
illnesses such as cancer, diabetes, heart disease, and stroke. Recently, Krysti's love for working with and healing her clients has led her back to school where she is currently completing the prerequisites necessary for admission to medical school.
